About Axle & Haul
We explain heavy machinery fault codes, troubleshooting and specifications in plain language, sourced to the manufacturer’s own documentation and matched to your exact machine.
Why we started Axle & Haul
When a machine throws a fault code on a job site, you need to know three things fast: what the code means, whether it is safe to keep working, and what to check first. Too often, the answer online is a copied code list with no model, no serial range and no source.
Axle & Haul exists to fix that. Every page we publish ties a code or a procedure to the specific machine it applies to and tells you where the information comes from. Our first focus is Bobcat equipment. You can start with our guide to Bobcat fault codes by machine, and we are expanding to more manufacturers, troubleshooting guides and maintenance topics.
Who we write for
Our guides are written for people who work with compact and heavy equipment every day.
- Owner-operatorsDeciding whether a warning means stop now or book a service.
- Fleet and site managersKeeping machines working and downtime short across a fleet.
- Field and shop mechanicsLooking for a quick, sourced reference before opening the service manual.
- Buyers and rentersChecking a used or rental machine’s history and known issues.
How we research every article
Our team researches and analyses every article before it is published. This is the process each one goes through.
Identify the exact machine
We define the model, series and serial number range a code or procedure applies to, because the same code can mean different things on different machines.
Go to primary sources
We work from manufacturer documentation first, such as operation and maintenance manuals, service information and official resources from brands like Bobcat.
Cross-check the details
We compare code formats, descriptions and recommended actions across sources and flag anything that differs by model or serial range.
Review before publishing
A second team member reviews each article for accuracy, clarity and safety wording before it goes live.
Update and correct
We revisit published articles when new information appears and fix errors quickly under our corrections policy.
