Editorial Policy
How our team chooses, researches, checks and updates every article on Axle & Haul, and the standards we hold ourselves to.
Effective date: September 26, 2026. Last updated: September 26, 2026.
1Our editorial mission
Axle & Haul exists to give equipment owners, operators, fleet managers and mechanics clear, sourced answers about heavy machinery fault codes, troubleshooting and specifications. Our goal is simple: every article should tell you what a code or issue means for your exact machine, how serious it is, what to check first and where the information comes from.
We write for people who need a reliable answer on a job site, not for search engines. If a page does not help a reader solve a real problem, we do not publish it.
2Who creates our content
Every article is researched, written, reviewed and updated by the Axle & Haul team, a group of seven people at KCS Global Group, working from our office in Durg, Chhattisgarh, India.
We publish as the Axle & Haul team rather than under individual names. This means every article carries the same research and review standard, and the team as a whole is accountable for its accuracy. You can learn more about our team.
3How we choose topics
We choose topics based on the problems equipment users actually face. Our topic ideas come from:
- Questions and code requests readers send to contact@axleandhaul.com.
- Codes and issues that are commonly searched for but poorly explained elsewhere.
- Gaps we find while researching, such as code formats that change between serial ranges.
We group related topics into clusters, such as our guide to Bobcat fault codes by machine and its supporting articles, so readers can find everything about one problem in one place.
4The sources we use
We rank our sources by reliability and always start at the top.
Primary sources: our foundation
Manufacturer operation and maintenance manuals, service information, official manufacturer websites such as Bobcat, technical bulletins and the labels and plates on the machines themselves.
Supporting sources: for context and safety
Authorised dealer publications, safety authorities such as OSHA, and industry bodies such as the Association of Equipment Manufacturers.
Limited use: never on their own
Forums, social media, videos and unofficial code lists. We may use them to spot common problems or questions, but we never publish a code meaning, figure or procedure based only on these sources.
If we cannot confirm a detail from a reliable source, we either leave it out or clearly say that it is unconfirmed.
5Our research and review process
Every article goes through the same steps before it is published.
Define the scope
We identify the exact manufacturer, models, series and serial number ranges the article covers.
Research primary sources
We collect the relevant information from manufacturer documentation first, then supporting sources.
Analyse and cross-check
We compare code meanings, formats, severity and recommended actions across sources and flag any differences between models or serial ranges.
Write in plain language
We explain what the code or issue means, how serious it is, what to check first and when to call a technician.
Review before publishing
A second team member checks every code, figure, source link and safety note against the sources before the article goes live.
Publish with a date
Each article shows when it was last updated, so you know how current the information is.
6Machine-specific accuracy
The same fault code can mean different things on different machines. To avoid misleading readers, we:
- State clearly which models, series or serial ranges an article applies to.
- Point out when a code format or meaning changes between machines or software versions.
- Avoid generic code lists that do not say which machines they cover.
- Remind readers to confirm the information in the manual for their exact machine.
7How we write about safety
Heavy equipment can cause serious injury or death, so safety guides how we write every article:
- We make it clear when a code or symptom means the machine should be stopped.
- We never advise bypassing, disabling or overriding safety systems, interlocks or warning alerts.
- We do not publish step-by-step procedures for repairs that should only be done by trained technicians.
- We always point readers to the manufacturer’s manual and a qualified technician when the risk is high.
Read our full disclaimer for more on safety and the limits of our content.
8Our use of AI tools
We use AI tools to support parts of our workflow, such as organising research, planning article structure and preparing early drafts. AI tools do not decide what is true on our site.
Every code, figure, source and safety statement is checked by our team against the sources described above, and no article is published without human research and review.
Our team is fully responsible for everything we publish, however it was drafted.
9Editorial independence
- Axle & Haul is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Bobcat, Doosan Bobcat or any other equipment manufacturer, dealer or parts supplier.
- We do not accept payment to publish, change or remove content, and we do not publish sponsored articles.
- Ads on our site are chosen by the ad network, including Google, not by our editorial team, and advertisers have no influence on our content.
- If we use affiliate links, they never affect what we write or recommend. See our affiliate disclosure.
10How we show our sources
We believe you should be able to check our work. Where possible, our articles:
- Name the manufacturer documentation the information is based on.
- Link directly to official and publicly available sources.
- Separate confirmed information from general troubleshooting advice.
Some manufacturer service information is only available to dealers or owners. In those cases, we name the document type so you can request it from your dealer.
11Updates and corrections
We review published articles when manufacturers release new information, when readers report a problem and as part of our regular content checks. When we make a meaningful change, we update the date on the article.
If we find or are told about an error, we check it against our sources and correct it quickly. How we handle this is explained in our corrections policy.
12Feedback and contact
Your feedback helps us improve. To report an error or suggest a topic, email contact@axleandhaul.com. For business or legal matters, email info@axleandhaul.com. More details are on our contact page.
